Record % of Buyers planning to move in 2025 and Rates are falling!

If selling your house is on the radar, but you're wondering about the market - this might be the perfect time - here’s why. A recent NerdWallet survey found that 15% of people are planning to buy a home this year. That is in all demographics AND the highest percentage this survey has ever recorded!

For context, buyer demand has been holding steady between 9-11% since 2020. This jump is a big deal because it shows that demand hasn’t disappeared! If anything, it’s been building up and is now ready to hit the market. See below for comparison.

And as mortgage rates dip to lowest level of 2025, hopes are lifting for this spring's home-buying season in Richmond!

"Rates fell for the fourth week in a row, offering a glimmer of hope for home buyers as the U.S. housing market approaches the busiest period of the year. The 30-year fixed-rate mortgage rate fell 2 basis points to an average of 6.87%, which is the lowest level since Dec. 26, 2024, according to data from Freddie Mac last Thursday."
